The Story

I found these chairs next to a dumpster outside an apartment building in my Glover Park neighborhood of D.C. Only one had a seat—and it was not attached. They had not been assembled very well (a problem I fixed) but were otherwise in great shape. I cut new seats from medium density fiberboard. I added some new thick foam and a layer of batting (from Joann), covered them with some new upholstery material (from G Street Fabrics), and attached the seats to the inside of the frames with a couple of corner braces and screws.
